Day 1: ZAGREB
Upon arrival at Zagreb Airport, meet your tour director, transfer to Hotel. Room allocation. Nice walk to centre of town and free time for dinner. Overnight.
Day 2: Saturday: ZAGREB (Zapresić/Žumberak)
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. Followed by a walking city tour of Zagreb. Today's highlights will be the fortified Upper Town, the city`s historical center, St Mark's church with its multicoloured roof, the Cathedral, the Croatian National Theater and University. Around lunchtime we take a drive to Zapresic to visit the historical Castle of Ban Josip Jelacic. A late traditional lunch will be served (included) at one of Zapresic traditional restaurants. Late afternoon we return to Zagreb for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: ZAGREB (Croatian Castles)
Breakfast will be served at the hotel. A full-day excursion takes you to Hrvatsko Zagorje. It is a region famous for its well-preserved castles and spas with thermal and mineral waters. We’ll visit the Oršić Castle in Gornja Stubica and the Peasants’ Revolt Museum. Next, we’ll visit the Ethno Village of Kumrovec where we’ll learn about the old crafts and visit the birth place of President Tito. Trakošćan, the best-preserved Croatian castle dating back to the 13th century with a wonderful park and artificial lake, is also part of our itinerary.Late afternoon we return to Zagreb for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: ZAGREB - PLITVICE LAKES - SPLIT
After breakfast we depart Zagreb and drive to Plitvice Lakes National Park. Listed on UNESCO's list of World Natural Heritage. Sixteen different leveled lakes, joined with a series of cascading waterfalls, surrounded by dense woods, Plitvice Lakes are a natural phenomenon of a rare and unique beauty. Drive to Split. Overnight.
Day 5: SPLIT
Breakfast in hotel. Enjoy a city tour featuring the historic inner city, built around Roman Emperor Diocletian’s Palace, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site. See remnants of Split’s Roman heritage, its Renaissance and Gothic structures, Jupiter’s Temple, the Peristyle and the Cathedral. Free time in centre. Overnight.
Day 6: ŠIBENIK I NP KRKA
Breakfast in hotel. We will drive to National Park „Krka“. Here we will meet with our guide and our tour of National park „Krka“ can begin. The first and main attraction are the magnificent waterfalls of "Skradinski Buk". During pleasant walk our guide will share with us his rich knowledge about all attractions and natural wonders of the park. We will also have an opportunity to visit small stone houses and watermills which are now transformed into many small museums with different exhibits. Our tour continues with pleasant boat ride through the park towards islet Visovac where we will visit museum and church. After we will short drive to Šibenik; town which successfully combines famous history and natural beauties. During your sightseeing visit the famous St. Jakov cathedral, the most important Renaissance building in Croatia. Free time and drive back to Split. Overnight.
Day 7: DUBROVNIK
Breakfast in hotel. We will drive to Dubrovnik. Picturesque medieval town is known as the 'Pearl of the Adriatic'. We will visit the Cathedral and Franciscan Monastery with Europe’s third oldest pharmacy, and other interesting sights. Take this unique opportunity to walk on top of the city Bastians and experience the mesmerizing views of the Lokrum Island with a backdrop of the Lafiti Islands.Afternoon at leisure. Drive to Split. Overnight.
Day 8: MEĐUGORJE
Breakfast in Hotel. Drive to Međugorje, town located in Bosnia and Hercegovina, around 25 km southwest of Mostar and close to the border of Croatia. Today the town is best known due to apparitions of the Blessed Virgin Mary which appeared to six Herzegovinian Croats since 24 June 1981, and is now visited by pilgrims from around the entire world as a shrine. Free time to go on hill od apparitions or you can go in church. Back to Split. Overnight.
Day 9: ZADAR – OPATIJA
After breakfast, we will travel to Zadar, upon arrival we will meet local guide and see the Roman Forum from the 2nd century BC, the 9th century pre-Romanesque church of St. Donatus as well as St. Elias church. Free time. Departure to Opatija. Overnight.
Day 10: OPATIJA – RIJEKA
Breakfast in hotel. Short bus drive to Rijeka. Rijeka is the administrative and cultural centre of the Primorje-Gorski kotar County and the third largest city in Croatia with regard to the number of inhabitants. The city is situated along the course of Rječina River and nearby numerous streams. It lies on abundant sources and confluences. Like numerous cities in the world, Rijeka carries the symbol of water in its name. Free time for shopping. Back to Opatija. Overnight.
Day 11: BRIJUNI
Breakfast in hotel. We will go in town Fažana and go by boat to National park Brijuni. Meet local guide and ride by tourist train, visit to the remains of the Roman villa rustica from the I century B.C. in the bay of Verige, and the safari park which breeds the following animals: zebra, Somali sheep, zebu (the holy east Indian humped ox), dromedary, llama and elephant.
The tour also includes visits to the archaeological museum located in the Citadel building from the XVI century and the Church of St. Germain with permanent exhibition of copies of frescoes and Glagolitic writings from Istra..Back to Opatija. Overnight.
Day 12: OPATIJA - ZAGREB
Breakfast in hotel. Drive to Zagreb. Airport. Departure to home.
